Maryland Community College Dual Enrollment Programs

Maryland community college dual enrollment programs offer students the opportunity to earn high school AND college credit at the same time. Program eligibility, such as age and number of classes that can be taken, varies by community college, but all are open to homeschoolers. All students are required to take and achieve a minimum score on the Accuplacer entrance test as part of their application process.

As a homeschool family, you may choose to enroll your child in any course they are eligible to take at the community college. How you use those community college credits on your homeschool high school transcript is entirely up to you.

If you think your homeschooler may enroll in public high school at some point time, their community college credits may be able to be used for transfer high school credit. Each community college has a pre-approved transfer credit agreement with their local school district. Scroll down this page to find links that will take you to those pre-approved course lists.

NOTE: MDHSA makes no guarantee that community college credits will be accepted as transfer credits by your local public school. Parents who plan to re-enroll their child into public high school are responsible for contacting their school’s guidance counseling office to discuss specific transfer credit policies BEFORE enrolling their child in community college classes.
