Kent County Virtual Blended Learning Academy
Kent County, an Eastern Shore county nestled between Cecil and Queen Anne’s counties, announced a 1-year blended learning school program for the 2019-20 school year. Enrollment is open until September 30, 2019. Homeschool families who elect to participate must enroll their children into the public school system before starting the Blended Learning classes.

Eligibility: | Must have been homeschooled for the 2018 – 19 school year. |
Grades: | 6th – 12th |
Type of School: | Blended learning. Students will be required to attend in-person classes at least one day a week. Students will enroll in four classes each semester. All class tests will be taken at school. |
Class Time: | No specific login time. Students can access recorded classes 24/7 and complete courses at their own pace. Students will have online access to teachers during office hours, as well as 24/7 Chatbox Tutors. |
Special Education: | If students have been found to be eligible for an IEP, services will be provided in-person on the days the student attends school. Additionally, accommodations may be offered through their online class. |
Extracurriculars & Sports: |
Blended Learning Academy students are eligible to participate in KCPS sports teams and after school activities. |
State Testing: | Required. |
Service Learning: | Required. |
Diploma: | Yes, students who graduate from the Blended Learning Academy will receive a Kent County Public School diploma. |
Computer: | All Blended Learning Academy students will receive a laptop, which must be returned if and when they unenroll from the program. |
